Co-production with Off Duty entertainment. “Alas Quebradas” is Spanish for “Broken Wings” and refers to the broken dreams of undocumented day laborers in the United States. Over the past eight months, I have conducted interviews and much research within the undocumented and homeless communities. As part of my personal research, each day I walk the streets with my cameraman and I investigate the second-class status of undocumented immigrants in this country. “Alas Quebradas” will be an experimental documentary centered on social justice and media activism concerning the same issues presented in “Jale”. The goal of this film is to serve as a testimony to the social injustice the homeless and undocumented communities face from day to day. The film will document the concerns of these individuals and present them to organizations like The San Francisco Day Labor Program and other influential institutions that may be able to improve the standard of living for these marginal communities.
